Hi everyone! My name is Millie.  My foster mom tells me that I am just the sweetest thing on 4 legs and it’s even better because I don’t shed.  I love people to the moon and back, especially men but I’m fine with anyone.  My favorite thing to do is curl up on your lap and take a nap.  I get along great with other dogs, both big and small, but I can be a little bossy at times until my place in the pack is established, which I feel should be near the top if not the Queen of the house.  If there is something you don’t like about my behavior, a stern “Millie” and a finger snap is enough to make me rethink what I’m doing.  Toys are a new thing for me as well but since I’m a quick learner, some one-on-one time would be perfect.  I made my foster mom super happy the other day when I actually fetched a ball back to her.  I don’t really understand why she was so happy about me bringing a dirty, slobbery ball back to her but, hey, I’ll take it!  I am housetrained and crate trained and will go in on my own if I want to take a nap but, usually, I prefer napping on the couch.  Food is a great motivator for me so teaching me tricks and other fun things will be a breeze, and I am not at all food aggressive.  My foster mom has a routine with all the dogs in the house (4 dogs total) that we all have to line up when waiting for our meals and we can’t eat until we have been given the release command.  It is sometimes frustrating but I wait in my spot just like the others, and my mom tells me I’m such a good girl for doing it.  Baths, nail trims, brushing, and grooming is a breeze; bring it on and I’ll take it in stride.  Since I am a mini schnauzer, I do have a voice and I like to use it.  I will bark at things outside whether it be people walking by or neighbor’s dogs.  When I go into a store with other people, I get so excited that I just have to whine and yap.  When meeting new dogs, I can be very vocal and “growly” but I don’t really mean it, I just don’t want the dogs to get in my face and push me around.  I am a lady who will stand up for herself and will not stand for mistreatment from other dogs.  Once the pecking order is established, I will settle down and play or coexist.  I seem to be somewhat selective of the dogs I play with but there is no rhyme or reason to my choices even though my foster mom wishes there were; I guess some dogs just rub me the wrong way, you know the feeling, right?  Just because I don’t play doesn’t mean I can’t coexist peacefully and even curl up to sleep next to my other housemates.  I have the best pitiful face any dog has ever had.  If I get into trouble or just feel sad in any way, I will get this look going that makes it impossible for people not to love me and want to make me feel better.  It works perfectly if I get into trouble since my foster parents can’t stay mad for very long; score for me!  One more thing my foster mom told me I had to mention was my “roo.”  When I get very excited such as before meals or when my people come home, I bark and whine at the same time and in such a way that it turns into a “roo” sound as though I’m howling.  It is so very cute and my foster parents absolutely love it when I do this.  They say I will melt your heart when I roo for you.  Will you give me a chance to melt your heart and love you through the good and the bad? (AM/KC)

Up to date on age appropriate vaccines, spayed and micro-chipped.
