This sweet girl named Samwise Gamgee (from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy) is great with children, dogs, cats, and people. Everyone who meets her falls in love. Sam is approximately 10 years old. This is her second rescue. She was found originally in January, 2004. She may have been a victim of abuse since she has a large scar on her shoulder that appears to be from some kind of cut and several pellets lodged in her side as well. Sam came to RUFF after her parents divorced. Sam has proven to be an incredibly adaptable dog. She has lived in a home with a fenced in yard and done very well. She is currently thriving with her foster family in an apartment. There she is crated during the day and treated to lots of walks. Samwise is working hard to regain her girlish figure. She is currently on a low calorie diet and is getting extra exercise sessions in daily. She loves long walks, car rides and attention.
