Hi, my name is Sassy.  My owner surrendered me and just in time too.  I had to have surgery on my ear and I lost a lot of my hair due to a flea allergy that went untreated. Finally, all of my fur has grown back.  So now, I just want someone who will love me and cuddle with me and then cuddle with me some more.

I get along pretty well with the other dogs in my foster home as long as they don't try to steal my food or toys.  I love to run and play and my foster mom can't believe I am an older dog because I am so agile.  I like playing fetch and catching frisbies too.  I am a fast runner!  Check out my video to see me in action!  I have lived with two kitties and we get along just fine. 

My foster mom says I am so smart and obedient too.  She only has to show me something 5 times and I master it!  I know several commands like sit, shake, down, off, stay, crate and leave it.  My foster mom will tell me to sit and stay and she will throw a treat across the room and I stay put until she tells me "OK" and then I know I can go get my reward.  I stay right in my yard when she takes me outside off leash and come as soon as I am called.  I had to learn the “off” command because I like to jump up and give hugs.  I will lay my head right up against her chest and look up into her eyes with adoration.  It is one of my most endearing qualities according to my foster mom. I just know that I like to cuddle as close as I can and that is the best way to do it! 

I don’t like guns very much, toy or real. I jump up and bite at them. My foster mom wonders what happened to me that I have such a strong reaction because I am such a gentle soul. She has been working with me on this and says I am doing fabulous but cautions that if I am with any small child with a toy gun I will need to be supervised just in case I forget all my training.

My dream home is one where I will be with my humans all day long and get a lot of attention. I don’t like to be left alone. Do I sound like your dream dog? (EJ/CW)
